Prof. Dr. Rajesh Nath Gongal Appointed as Rector

15 June 2017. Prof. Dr. Rajesh Nath Gongal has been appointed as rector of Patan Academy of Health Sciences (PAHS) by Hon’ble Minister of Health Mr. Gagan Kumar Thapa at the capacity of Pro-Chancellor of the academy on recommendation of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Bharat Kumar Yadav from the decision made on 30 May 2017 (16 Jestha 2074). Prof. Gongal, a senior surgeon is also a former director of Patan Hospital, the teaching hospital of PAHS and the founding Dean of the academy. The rector position was vacant from 11 March 2017 (28 Falgun 2074)  after Prof. Dr. Kedar Prasad Baral successfully concluded his four-year term on 28 Falgun 2073 (11 march 2017). The new rector formally officiated from 15 June 2017 after he was sworn in by the Vice-Chancellor in a function organised in the office of Vice-Chancellor amongst the presence of executives and head of departments in the program. We wish him all the best for his successful tenure.
